A Multiobjective Evolutionary Approach for Solving the Multi-Area Dynamic Economic Emission Dispatch Problem Considering Reliability Concerns

Economic dispatch (ED) problems, especially in multi-area power networks, have been challenging concerns for system operators several decades. In this paper, we introduce a novel approach solving the multiobjective dynamic ED (MADED) problem presence of practical constraints such as valve-point effect (VPE), prohibited operating zone (POZ), multi-fuel operation (MFO), and ramp rate (RR) limitations. Different objective functions including energy not supplied (ENS), generation costs, emissions are investigated. The reliability objective, which has less studied economic area, distinguishes proposed study from other studies. A compromise made points view. MADED is inherently complex nonlinear problem, considering operational constraint increments intricacy problem. Hence, modified grasshopper optimization (MGO) algorithm based on chaos mechanism presented to prevent being trapped local optima. method tested two systems 10 unit, 3-zone test 40-unit system, then, outcomes compared with those evolutionary techniques gray wolf (GWO) honey bee mating (MHBMO). simulation results demonstrate that suggested strategy successful resolving both single-objective problems.
